Are stable doors secure?
Stable doors might be perceived as compromising safety due to their additional moving components. However, well-made stable doors do not pose any security risk. In most cases, these doors automatically lock together when you close them just like a normal door does. Like other doors, you should seek stable doors with exceptional locking systems. We understand that you may want to increase security as much as possible, so we offer separate locks to add to your individual door panels. We can also insert bolts to attach the two parts firmly together. Please talk to us if you would like to discuss these additions further.
How does a stable door work?
Two individual sections are brought together to make a stable door. They can open and close independently, giving you complete control over how your door opens. Traditionally, stable doors were created for horses so they could stay safe in their stables whilst being able to look out and get well-needed ventilation. This can be applied to your project too, as you can have air and light without having to open your door fully. Upon installation, our friendly experts will talk you through your stable door’s mechanism before they leave.
Do stable doors open in or out?
Whether you want your doors to open inwards or outwards, we can manufacture your stable doors to fit your preferences. There are numerous options that can be achieved in our state-of-the-art factory, so let us cater to your design needs. The more popular choice is outwards-opening stable doors as you can pin them back so they don’t take up interior space. Nevertheless, outwards-opening doors might block a window, so you may choose to have inwards-opening ones instead. You’ll need to check you have the space for either option.
Can you get uPVC stable doors?
You can. Selecting uPVC is a very secure and energy efficient choice. Despite their rustic connotations, stable doors don’t always have to be made from wood. uPVC can be stylised to maintain a traditional look whilst giving you all its material benefits. If you would like to weigh up the pros and cons of both options, contact us to chat more about stable door materials.
Why have a stable door?
When you picture a stable door, you may imagine farmhouses and horse stables. However, more urban back doors are being turned into stable doors due to their brilliant benefits. Offering you practicality, you can open up the top half and get the most out of a sunny day or the fresh air whilst staying inside. The mechanism blocks out any outdoor dust or leaves from entering, too. If you have children, you can rest easy knowing the bottom half of your stable door keeps them safe and in your view. If you want to explore the possibility of a stable door for your project, come to our showroom where our experts are on-hand to help.
Can you get stable doors with windows?
We are able to make stable doors including glazed panels. A glass panel in the top half is a popular style many of our customers choose as it lets light shine through even when the door is completely closed. We continue our security guarantee with stable doors by using toughened glass in all outer doors. Contact us now to chat through your ideas.
