Casement Windows

  • Casement windows are the perfect addition to your project, whether it is a classic property or a modern new-build. With a classy, smooth exterior, the hinges are neatly located to the side of the window so they open outwards like a door.

Alternatively, you can choose top-hung windows. Top-hung casement windows are where the hinges are placed at the top, meaning the window opens from the bottom and is good for blocking rain, even if the window is open. Side-hung casement windows open from the side, so you can get excellent ventilation.

Casement windows remain a firm favourite among customers, and we tailor them to match your specifications. Our state-of-the-art factory manufactures them perfectly before they arrive ready to be installed by one of our many expert engineers. Different colours and finishes are also available for our customers who want their project to feel as personal as possible.

Common questions

What is a casement window?

Casement windows bring you versatility in their flexible design. They are structured with a window sash attached to the outer frame, and hidden hinges within a euro groove – keeping your project’s exterior looking neat. You can select between single windows or paired windows within the same frame.

Top-hung casement windows are also on offer, bringing you windows with a hinge at the top of its frame and a handle at the bottom, rather than the side. Often, top-hung casement windows are installed for kitchens due to their accessible opening, and for bathrooms as it opens for ventilation without compromising privacy. Furthermore, top-hung is perfect for blocking any sudden rainfall.

What’s the difference between a casement window and a picture window?

The main difference between casement windows and picture windows involves how the doors swing open. For the casement window, there is freedom in being able to swing out the window quite far. However, the picture window is not designed to be opened; the reason for this being that picture windows are very image-oriented, giving you the breadth of the outside view.

Casement windows are typically smaller, with additional panes. Picture windows are wide, with few panes and are fixed in place so they cannot be opened.

How much do casement windows cost?

The cost of casement windows depends highly on the material, the time taken to fit, and the extent of work needed to fit the windows. Therefore, we cannot give a definite figure of cost.

UPVC is an excellent and cost-effective material to select for your casement windows. For other finishes and styles, however, including timber alternative, flush casement or aluminium, you will be quoted a higher price. To get a more specific idea of the cost of your casement windows, contact us and we will happily give you a free, no-obligation quote.

Are casement windows more energy efficient?

Your casement windows will have an airtight seal when closed, as the window sash presses firmly against the frame. This prevents cold getting in and heat escaping out. A natural option for increased project insulation, you will find yourself using your heating less and spending less on your bills.

Ensure further energy efficiency with our triple-glazed casement windows. You will find yourself saving money and enjoying more sound insulation.

Are casement windows secure?

Casement windows are made with security in mind, making it very hard for intruders to get in. This is due to a special hook-shaped lock that inserts into the frame of the window. Casement windows make it difficult for intruders to pry open, which is only made harder with the multi-locking system.

The Official Police Security Initiative, Secured By Design, covers our casement windows. You have the reassurance of knowing that your casement windows are made with safety at the forefront.

Are casement windows worth it?

Casement windows are a brilliant choice for their benefits and smart design. They are an effective option to keep your project well-lit and ventilated. For those colder days, casement windows will insulate your project with their compression-seal technology which makes the mechanism snug. The tight seals keep cold air outside and stop warm air from escaping – brilliant for your energy bill.

Additionally, casement windows are vital for our customers who have limited mobility. Features such as the crank mechanism make moving the windows to open and close very easy.
